Data Engineering in Trading - roundtable with Optiver

Are you interested in finding out more about what opportunities are in the trading industry and how we use technology?

Join our afternoon interactive session with a presentation and Q&A where you can meet our colleagues Zuotian (Application Engineer), Catalina (Network Engineer), Software Engineer and Junna (Data Analyst). They will be able to share their experiences, challenges and share tips.

The event will start with our colleague, Zuotian Tatum, giving a presentation on the current data engineering challenges for low latency. As we work in a rapidly changing and very competitive environment. Our infrastructure is a combination of vastly distributed systems, high-performance computing on one hand; and high-throughput dataflows, huge storage, and data analysis on the other. Zuotian will give an overview of the data engineering involved in capturing network data with nanosecond precision timestamps, where we dive below nanoseconds to answer crucial business questions, and the challenges of running such a system in real-time.

Afterwards will have an open Q&A discussion with our employees, and you will get the chance to hear from them what it is like to work at Optiver. They will introduce themselves and give a quick overview of what it is they do.

Optiver will also be looking for *interns* for summer 2021 --- they are lucky enough to have the internship onsite in 2020 and are hoping to do it again for the next year. The offer will include:

- €6250 per month (x2 months)
- 8 weeks program
- Fully furnished city center apartment paid for by Optiver
- All meals provided for free at the office
- Free bicycle to explore Amsterdam or public transport card
- Social events organized by Optiver
- Opportunity to receive a full time offer

You will be able to ask questions about the internship in the roundtable part of the event and learn more about how is it like working in Optiver!

Hoping to see you there!
